Wow. Come on. That link sends us to a place to put the wrong number. That link sends that number a text. You with us so far???? WE CANT ACCESS THAT NUMBER. ZERO. But that number receives iMessages and FaceTime requests. My wrong number is ex wife. She been spying right in front of me. Still done nothing wrong but I want that heifer out of my life
You don't need the SIM. You just have to know what the number was to deregister it.
I have this same problem. Trying to use iMessage and FaceTime. I used a different sim in Malaysia. I am now back in the UK and using my UK sim. When I try to connect to iMessage it keeps trying to use the phone number for my Malaysia sim. I have searched and tried all the recommendations on here with no luck. Changed apple id. Turned on and off....no luck. I just want to forget the malaysia phone number ever existed. Can someone tell me how to deregister this thing?!
Thank you Lawrence. But I do not have the Malaysian SIM card anymore. Seems it just left the number behind!! I tried all of what you said but the old number is still there and the circle of annoyance just keeps spinning! Only thing I haven't tried is doing it without a SIM card.
I'm not sure what you mean by deregister it from your account. Do you mean for 2 Factor Authentication, or for iMessage and FaceTime? Those are the only places where your device cares about your phone number.
Hi
Just use another SIMCARD from your network provider people change simcards
& phone numbers when you put in new simcard go to settings down to second phone icon click that at top of page Check new phone number is correct.
Cheers
Brian
