I disagree. It will work, and will charge your ipod quicker, but this will put more strain on the battery. Therefore the battery will degrade much sooner than it would, and you will get less battery capacity as time goes on.
I disagree. Apple's charges are rated for compatibility with all Apple devices.

The device has circuitry designed to only take as much power as it requires and no more. There is absolutely no harm in using the 12 Watt charger with an iPod Nano.

It wont even charge the phone faster let alone do any damage, it is 2017 now, you know that don't you?
Thanks, i know Apple is the definition of quality and innovation so this does not surprise me at all. Being a Vapor (quit smoking 14 months ago) the 18650s i use have a strict range of voltage & ampres to recharge the batteries within. So ADDITIONAL question: What if someone's using a NON-Apple charger...whats the amp limit .5, 1, 2, 2.4? I know the iPod (like most devices) has some type of regulator inside but im sure there's a recommended rating.
thx
It will be fine.
Ok ok keep ur hair on! I am not an electrical engineer, so I didn't know the circuitry of apple chargers. I was talking about fast chargers in general.
Also, If that's the case, why do people bother buying ultra fast chargers?
Interested to know 🙂
The 'charger' is in the iPod, the thing under discussion here is simply a power supply for it. It is that way with all Apple and most other devices that exist in this world.
Dont have "the phone" just a pro pad and the ipod. The deep question must of thrown ya off
5V at 1 to 2.4A is the correct range which produces 5 to 12 watts.
It is the same for all Apple's devices.
Yes, 5v is standard thats why i only asked about ampres. E=IR, P=IE
5 volts is the USB standard.
