Fonts Missing in Keynote

I (finally) just upgraded from OS 10.8 to OS 10.12. Obviously, Keynote upgraded too. In an old presentation, I was using the font Bangla MN. Now, when I open the new Keynote, Bangla isn't a font choice. When I open Font Book, I can see that it's still on my computer, but it doesn't include English characters anymore. Is there a way I can still use Bangla (in English) in Keynote?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), macOS Sierra (10.12.5), Keynote 7.2

Go to Format > Font > Show Fonts, make sure it is set to All Fonts at the left, and try choosing Bangla there. You should be able to type English without a problem.

In general it is best not to use fonts intended for Indian or other non-Latin languages for English text. The English part of them may not be well constructed and when viewed on another platform some odd local font for that language could get substituted.
