For some reason an old email address for my son now defunct keeps popping up when i try to update my apps. The email hasnt existed for 8 years.
I go to settings and sign out and even turned off find my phone icloud itunes then signed back in.
Still pops up when i try to update my apps?

Hi. Sorry to hear about your son... If you know the old password, you can still login to the app store using the old Apple ID, and update those old apps. But it will get really confusing, so it would be better to get everything on the current Apple ID. Just a warning, though. Do you know the Apple ID that was used to set up the device? You will need to use that if you ever need to re-activate the iPad.
Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to download them.
You have to delete the apps and re-download with your own Apple ID.
FYI, apps are not transferable.
I did go back and try to update one app at a time ant lo an behold, the app Google Chrome was the culprit.
So, I did as you said. It worked. It's so strange because the email address no longer exists, so, of course, there is no recovery. Cest' le vie! Thanks, all very interesting.
