iPhone 6s stuck in recovery mode

My iPhone has been stuck in recovery mode since I accidentally closed my laptop screen while downgrading from iOS 11 beta to iOS 10.3.2. I've tried everything and even contacted apple (I thought the problem was gone but it wasn't), but whenever I try to restore it, it just goes right back to the recovery mode screen. Please help!!!

See: Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support

Error 56 is described in this link as:

If you see one of the errors below, you might have a hardware issue:

  • 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16
  • 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 56
  • 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667 1669

Here's what to check. Try again after each step:

  1. If iTunes is already open, quit and reopen it.
  2. Check your third-party security software.
  3. Make sure that your USB cable, computer, and network are reliable. Then try twice more to restore your iOS device.
  4. Check for outdated or modified software.

Hi! Are U still here??? I found the way out!!

U need to download iOS11 beta2.

latest iTunes!

1. Put your phone to DFU

2. Hold Shift button (Windows) or Alt (Mac) and select downloaded iOS11 beta ipsw file.

Than procedure the same.

It stuck on infinite Recover Mode because U previously used iOS 10.3.3. But iTunes tries to update your Iphone to iOS 10.3.2. Thats why Infinite Recovery Mode!

Hope it will be helpful!!

Have a nice day! 🙂😉

Hey mohsin6422,

Did you download the correct software? There's a number of different .ipsw versions for each phone, and if you download one for example iPhone 6S, it won't be compatible with iPhone 7+.

Go to this page: Restore Shipping Software click download and select your iPhone model.

Follow the exact steps (pay attention to step 4: when you install you should push option/alt (Mac)/ shift (Windows) and select the firmware you just downloaded) and it should work. It did with me, atleast.

Error 53 is an odd one. It usually means that your Touch ID is broken. But it should not appear with any iOS version above 9.3.2. 3194 usually means that your phone was jailbroken, or that your computer was used to jailbreak an iOS device in the past, and its host file is corrupted by the process. If that's a possibility you need to rebuild your hosts file. Here's a tech note on that error: If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes - Apple Support

It can also mean that your USB is not supplying enough current (the phone requires a minimum of 0.5 amps), or your antivirus or firewall is interfering with iTunes attempting to connect to Apple's activation server. So a good thing to try is disconnect all USB devices except for keyboard and mouse, reboot your computer, and temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall. If it's an antivirus problem Kaspersky is the most common culprit.

The only legitimate way to get iOS 11 is to join the beta program. As there are over a dozen different ipsw files for the iOS 11 beta no one can give you a link to THE file. However, joining the beta program will get you the specific file you need for your device. See: Apple Beta Software Program for information about joining.

Having said that, it would be extraordinarily foolish to install any beta on any phone that is your primary device. Beta is short for "beta test"which means its purpose is testing, which further means that it is known to have bugs, because if it didn't have bugs it wouldn't need further testing.

Here is the explanation for that error: If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes - Apple Support

In summary, you are attempting to force a version of iOS that is not allowed on your phone. If you provide additional information, such as the model of iPhone and exactly how you are attempting to restore the phone someone can provide additional help.

Try restoring from DFU mode.

DFU mode:

  • Note that you must have a computer running Windows 7 or later, or Mac OS 10.9.5 or later
  • Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer if it isn't there already
  • Reboot your computer
  • Disable any antivirus and firewalls
  • Launch iTunes
  • Connect the device cable to a USB port on the computer (not to a USB hub), but DO NOT CONNECT TO THE DEVICE YET
  • Press and hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons (VOLUME DOWN and SLEEP on an iPhone 7/7+) at the same time for 8 seconds, until the screen turns black, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME/VOLUME DOWN button. If an Apple logo appears while holding both buttons you held for too long; start over.
  • While still holding the HOME/VOLUME DOWN button connect the other end of the cable to the device
  • You should see a message in iTunes saying a phone in Recovery mode has been detected (it may take up to a minute for the message to appear). When you see that message release the HOME/VOLUME DOWN button and the device should restore.
