How do I turn off tooltips in Garageband?

I'm sure this must be obvious, but I can't figure it out: how do I turn off the yellow tooltip popups in GarageBand? I'm trying to edit a keyboard track in piano roll, and the popups get in the way so much that I'm going to switch back to my old Windows program instead!
