poor quality projecting sling tv via apple tv

i have a one year old Samsung tv on the wall of my summer home. I have very fast and good internet. I have sling tv. When I want to project from my home tv via sling either live tv or recorded via tivo the quality is very poor. I project the image from my ipad or iPhone 6s+ and my Apple TV. My Apple TV is not the newest model. Any suggestion how I could improve the quality. Would a newer Apple TV help or any other suggestions?
