Move Ring not working

Hi everyone. I have an Apple Watch Series 2 42 mm. I've loved using it for the fitness tracking, and have had it for about 2 months now with no problem.

Today, I noticed that the Move ring was barely registering anything. It was a fairly normal day in terms of walking around (I go up and down a lot of stairs at work), but by the end of the work day, it had registered about 10 calories instead of the usual 3-400. I went to the gym tonight, completed a 15 minute Indoor Run on the treadmill using the Fitness App, and it registered only 40 Active Calories. At the end of the day here, I've only got 53 calories registered.

Nothing has changed in terms of settings on my phone or watch, and nothing seems obstructed on the back of my watch. Any ideas?

Hi

The following steps may help:

If you have not yet done so, update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:

Active calories and other activity-related estimations depend, in part, on your personal information. To check that this remains accurate:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.

During general daily wear and when using the Workout app to record workouts when GPS data is either not relevant or not available, the Activity app and Workout app track your arm motion (measured by the accelerometer) when estimating results.

  • For the best results, allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you move around during daily wear and to move as expected during workouts.

Calibrating your watch improves the accuracy of various activity-related estimations. Instructions for how to calibrate your watch are available via the support article linked below. The article also includes instructions for resetting existing calibration data and starting afresh.

Mine started last Tuesday. It registers the activity but the move part of the ring now used decimal places 0.001 I've no idea why. I've reset the phone the watch. I have the most up to date software. Still it's not working.

It may help to follow the same steps in my previous reply, including checking your personal information.
