Safari & mail crashing

Safari and mail are crashing when I press "print" on my iMac. This is new - I've had no problems until a a couple weeks ago. I can print from Chrome and with Safari on my MacBook and from Word. Printer is Canon 870.

Below is the top part of the crash report, but it's Greek to me. Any help appreciated.

You have some adware that you or someone that has access to your computer downloaded. This may be causing your problem. Re-open the EtreCheck report and click the links that say Clean Up and follow any on-screen directions.

After that has been done restart the computer in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift Key until the computer fully restarts and then restart normally and retest.

If you continue to have problems please post back.

It is possible you may have a hardware issue. I don't see anything terribly obvious. While I am not a fan of your backup method you do seem to have one. What worries me is restoring if you do have a hardware failure. I would recommend using Time Machine which would be significantly faster than using an on-line service. On a basic configuration such as yours using an on-line service is very slow.

What I'd recommend next is that you restart in the Recovery Partition (Command + R on startup) and install Mac OS on the system, this will not overwrite any of your data or apps, it is only designed to fill in portions of Mac OS that may have been damaged. This is very unusual to do and in most situations simply is not necessary. That being said you should always have a sound backup prior to going to this step. In the event the system still has problems after re-installing Mac OS then it's time to make an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP to have the computer professionally diagnosed.
