They won't work. Because the iPhone won't connect to a laptop (God knows why that is) I can't erase the phone through iTunes.
I have erased it through iCloud find my iPhone but the phone isn't connected to the internet so it's not erasing.

Sorry but those are all of the methods. You may want to try the recovery mode method with a different computer (that has iTunes installed) or take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider as discussed in the previously supplied link.
Use one of the other two methods described in If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
