"Download" Toolbar Icon on Safari 10.1.1 acting strange.

So i have managed to get the Download icon on the toolbar again by right clicking and choosing Download content. But it won't show any activity or record when i download using the right button and download to the downloads folder.

if a clear my downloads list the button will just desapear!!!!

This is ridiculous how can apple get something as simple as the download button THIS WRONG they need to get a grip i keep losing hours after hours solving their goddamned bugs! its unacceptable to pay what i have for this computer and have issues using the simples of features!!! Apple get a grip don't turn into windows already!

Anyway, back to us, anyone has a way to keep that ****** button fixed there and show all the download i do and not just the ones it wants???? thanks in advance.

I mean, you know Apple isn't here right? We are all users like you just trying to help out.

The download toolbar only shows up when I try to download something so for example, right now? It's not there. And if you clear the downloads, the button DOES disappear. If what you are needing is for the download button to stay there constantly, then you might want to submit feedback directly to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

I'm sure you won't like my response, but that's the best I can suggest. Feel free to continue your rant.

hahaha well yes i knew this is an user community, I'm just beyond mad because i have just spent hours solving a launchpad bug as well. Yes i would pretty much like the downloads icon to keep working as it used to or at least to show all i download and not just the download links file with the right click elements. It is really confusing now and completely pointless. i guess i will go for the feedback. there i can unleash the frustration. thanks a lot anyway.

Yes i have done that but thats not the issue. i have sent a feedback to apple... maybe hopefully they will read it. Its just dumb to keep tweaking with something that's already working perfectly. why go and do this... whatever. Thanks.

Try going to Safari/Preferences/General and set Remove download list items to something other than Upon successful download.
