How to keep wifi connected on iPhone 7 after it goes to sleep

My Wi-Fi is working, and my iPhone is in perfect state.

Wi-Fi stays connected as long as I keep using my iPhone

But after it is locked, it's Wi-Fi disconnects after a while and I receive no alert until I unlock it again.

I want to know if there exist a solution to this problem? Some change in settings if it could resolve it?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.3.2

Hello zzeekkhalid,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I understand that after locking your iPhone the Wi-Fi disconnects. It's important to make sure that Wi-Fi stays connected on your device, even when it is locked. I'll be glad to help assist you with this.

Your Wi-Fi shouldn't be disconnecting when locked, so I would like you to try a reset of the network settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before. Once you've done that, reconnect to your Wi-Fi and test to see if you get the same result.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day.

iPhones and iPads have always disconnected wifi when in sleep mode and running on the battery. The solution is to simply plug the device into an external power supply. When plugged in and not running on the battery, wifi remains on when the screen sleeps.

When being used on battery, you should still receive notifications via your cellular data connection.
