Blocked plug-in on Safari

I keep getting the "Blocked plug-in" message when trying to view or download PDF files on Safari.

I have disabled, re-installed the Adobe plug-in that seems to be the culprit, set to "Allow always"... Still the same.

Any pointer on how to deal with the issue?

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.5), Safari 10.1.1
