I was in talks with apple's twitter support channel. They adviced me to first do a factory install, and not recall a backup. And see if it helps. From there they could try to help me pinpoint the bug..

But this machine is brand new and the issue was present when it came with factory install.

Anyhow, that's what they're telling me to do.

I can't do that right now because I have a **** internet connection. I need to get work done while I'm travelling.

Anyhow, Apple, this is serious. I got this mostly for music, and now I can't really use it professionally for music. The "Apple silence" really bugs me at times like this. Perhaps you're just silently working on a bug fix for iOS 11, and you're well aware of the bug, and that's fine. But it'd be great if you told us.

It was the first thing I did. I always report bugs and issues at Apple's feedback.. On a weekly basis.. since there are quirks appearing here and there. But it's a silent one-way communication. Apple's twitter is active and responsive, but doesn't seem to be connected to the developers, or perhaps not even allowed to acknowledge that there are sometimes bugs. I think it's reasonable to assume that Apple has got representatives lurking the forums too, even if they never reveal themselves.

I read in this thread on the Audiobus forum that others were having the same latency issue, with both the new 12.9" and 10.5". Some installed iOS 11 beta, and the issue was resolved. Not sure when Apple will drop iOS 11, but I'm sure we can expect it to launch within the fall. September perhaps?

Same issue here without real rhyme or reason.

I notice it an multiple audio apps and something else, there's an issue with audio distortion that pops up randomly where the audio becomes distorted and gets progressively worse until the app is closed. sometimes you have to reboot/restart. The same problem happens with iMac desktops and MacBooks, starting around the time OS Sierra came out. The problem has to be a coding issue in core audio where a change was made a few years ago.

Apple OS used to be such sturdy and trustworthy but now... I Dj with MacBook and i've had the audio issue happen multiple times while gigging... Not good.

This is definitely a problem reported by many 10.5" users. I've found opening the host app first can get rid of the problem, and if it comes back just unplug the jack and put it in again.

I don't think Apple wants to admit that some people use professional cans, and therefore need the jack socket, so don't listen to any advice that Apple gives on this matter!

Lag makes the device useless for any audio work, but fortunately there seem to be simple ways to avoid it :-)

I can understand why professional musicians and creators do not wish to invest in these new ipads until the jack problem is completely solved.

I had the 1st Gen ipad pro with very little latency issue on garage band using audio jack, but with the new 10.7, after a few minuites of usage there is a very noticable latency and its ugly, sure latency is a big problem even before the 1st gen iPad pro, but seeing it kinda being resolved in gen 1 im not sure why it came back up in a very disturbing way on gen 2, i mean it's even worse when you compare with iPad Air 2.
