How to unlock Iphone outside the US?

Ola!

I am currently having problem with my iphone 6s.

I bought last year in July when i was study in the US. I bought it from Verizon, and i told them that i want it unlocked because i will not stay in the US fro long, they said they have unlocked it. Then i went back to my country Timor Leste located in South Asia between Indonesia and Australia, it was last year in december. I was able to used my phone for for a few months with the simcard company in my country. Then all of the sudden, my phone said no service at the screen, so i though the simcard is broken, and i changed to other company but still same, then i went to phone store, they said it might probably got lock again from the company. SO the problem is my phone is lock again, which i am not able to use it in my country. I have try everything, i read the article from Apple App about the problem, I watched youtube, and all the stuff but nothing is work, and we dont have apple store in my country. I tried to logged in to my verizon, but i couldnt because its been 8 months i left the US. Can someone help me with this? Much Appreciated it

If the only screen you are seeing is No Service, that is not because the phone is locked. Once the phone is unlocked, it is always unlocked, unless it is hacked to unlock. Also, all iPhones from Verizon since the introduction of the LTE phones, are all GSM unlocked due to an agreement with the FCC in the US for frequency allotment. It is not an issue with the phone being locked. Verizon would not unlock a phone and then lock it again. See this troubleshooting document for issues with No Service. Verizon iPhones have not been carrier locked since the iPhone 5. I'm not sure why you think yours is locked, you have not provided any information that would support that diagnosis. It actually sounds like you either have a damaged antenna, SIM card reader, or radio chip. You will need to return to the US to get warranty service.

The no service error that you are seeing has nothing to do with the unlock. If you put a SIM in the phone and the phone was locked, it would go to the Activation screen and say the SIM is not supported, not give you No Service. The No Service error has to do with your carrier. As you were told, the Verizon phones since the iPhone 5 are all GSM unlocked. Verizon will not, and cannot lock the phone back arbitrarily. Your issue is with your carrier, not with Verizon. Apple support does not always understand users questions, and this is one of them. The phone is unlocked, you need to try activating it again with your SIM. Put your SIM in the phone, make sure you have a backup, and restore the device to factory, then complete the activation process with your SIM in the phone. Report back any issues you have with the activation.

There is no way to confirm that using your PC. You can call AppleCare or go to an Apple Store and ask them to check the database but your Verizon iPhone will not be locked and the message you provided does not indicate that it is locked. Try activating it again and when you get to the locked/SIM message take a screen shot and post it here.
