How can I clean up a gmail inbox?

I have just moved my wife's gmail account to my old iPhone 6 and found that she has over 6000 emails onthat account that have been moved to the new phone! Is there a way of deleting all of these old emails without doing it about 5 at a time?

Thanks

iPhone 6, iOS 10.3.2

How to delete ALL 5000 + inbox with ONE step on iphone 6 ?

Try this

  • Go to your Inbox folder
  • Tap on the "Edit"-Button on the top right
  • Select the first email in your list
  • Hold down the "Move" button
  • While you are still holding the "Move"-Button, deselect the first E-Mail
  • Put away all your fingers from the screen and wait a few seconds
  • Now Mail asks you where to move ALL of your emails
  • Select the Trash Folder as destination
  • From inside the Trash Folder, you can delete all items at once

PS This does take some patience. I did this the other day for a friend with 4,000 + emails. It took two or three batches. It takes a while for the gmail server to synch.

on the iPhone no, you or her can log onto her email account on a web browser and mass delete that way and it will reflect on the phone assuming it is set up as an IMAP account.
