My sister gave me an iPad mini she's not using but it has her Apple ID etc. How do I get her off it and set it up with my Apple ID etc? Does she do that from her end or can I do it here? We are now in different states.

This way you can set it up using your own Apple ID.

Ask her to go to find my ipad on another Apple device she has click top of page go to
Top left list of devices remove the ipad you have from the list.
Then you can restore ipad back to factory settings Then set back up over your wifi with your details.

She simply needs to sign out, and you need to sign in.
