help with MainStage and Alesis e-drum set

HI all,

Im getting into using an Alesis Nitro drum set with MainStage 3 to do live musical theatre under tightly controlled (next to no live acoustic sound in the theatre) and want to map each different pad to a different channel strip in MainStage, thereby being able to both use any samples I want and to very carefully mix each channel, OR to assign a different output through my Focusrite I/O to give sound tech total control over each drum sound. I was able to use the producer sets to some degree of success, but was left wanting to be able to map each pad to a different channel strip (by midi channel perhaps, or simply note number), rather than to simply use a producer set, which wasn't totally separable, at least how I was able to accomplish this. Any help with this? I think I know how to assign different midi channels to each channel strip, and each pad to different midi channels, but something seems to be lost in the translation. I am not hip to the whole mapping aspect of this. Maybe Im asking noob questions, but this aspect of MainStage is rather new to me (Ive used Mintage for years with a Malletkat for musical theatre, and recently for guitar amps and effects. . drums is a new thing. . .).

Id appreciate any help or advice that can be given.
