Mac Mail Accounts Disappeared

My Mac mail accounts have disappeared after a restart of my Mac this afternoon. Is there a way to easily restore or do I need to reset up each account again? I am running macOS Sierra 10.12.5. Thanks, Jim

Try to follow the steps in this article see if it works : Mail for Mac: If an account is inactive in Mail

A disabled email account is dimmed in the list of accounts in Mail preferences, and its mailboxes and messages aren’t shown in the Message viewer.

Do one of the following:

  • Turn on accounts in Mail: Choose Mail > Preferences, click Accounts, select the inactive account, click Account Information, then select “Enable this account.”
  • Turn on accounts in System Preferences: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Internet Accounts, select an account, then select the Mail checkbox.

Thanks for your reply tygb.

Unfortunately the 4 mail accounts have been deleted completely ie: there are none of the account names listed to be able to select & enable. This is true in both Mail and Internet Accounts.

When I open Mail, I'm provided with the option to create an account. Likewise in Internet Accounts.

I'm concerned that if I re-establish these accounts, I may not receive all my emails and will have to re-create all the sub folders I had within the accounts.

Any other thoughts?
