how to open highmat image files on macbook pro

I have old photos on a backup file which have the ending highmat\images\(a number here - presumably photo number).HMT I can't seem to open them or view them in anything other than a slightly larger thumbnail view. How can I convert them to a normal image file please?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012)

This is what one source says:

What is an HMT file?

File used by High Performance Media Access Technology (HighMAT), a technology developed jointly by Microsoft and Panasonic that is used to save and playback digital media on CDs; contains images, audio, and video saved in a proprietary format.


Microsoft has discontinued support for HighMAT. The HighMAT extension is only available for the Windows XP CD Writing Wizard.
