I have old photos on a backup file which have the ending highmat\images\(a number here - presumably photo number).HMT I can't seem to open them or view them in anything other than a slightly larger thumbnail view. How can I convert them to a normal image file please?

There is not a lot of information out there about this now discontinued file format, the best answer I can give is to find a Windows PC still running Windows XP and see if you can open them there and try to save them/ convert them to jpeg,
then mov them to your Mac.

File used by High Performance Media Access Technology (HighMAT), a technology developed jointly by Microsoft and Panasonic that is used to save and playback digital media on CDs; contains images, audio, and video saved in a proprietary format.
Microsoft has discontinued support for HighMAT. The HighMAT extension is only available for the Windows XP CD Writing Wizard.
