Any way to brighten the color of events in month view?

Hello everyone,

I have searched all over and cannot find a solution.

When you click on an event in month view, highlight it in other words, the color brightens and becomes the color that you actually set that calendar for. For example, I have a color called "Fun", which is set to a bright red. When I create a calendar event and assign it to "Fun", and then click off of it, Apple, for some reason, decides that what I want to see if a subdued, dimmed red instead of the BRIGHT RED that I want to see. Is there any way to force Apple calendar on a mac (10.12, Sierra) to not subdue the colors? Or someway to reverse the order...have the colors in monthly view be subdued when clicking on the, and then be bright when not selected? I have seen some plist edit stuff for changing default sounds, so I was hoping someone had hacked around and figured a way to keep the calendar colors bright in monthly view.

I know that other calendars, like iCal, give you much more freedom with colors, but I have no desire in install iCal or google calendar or anything else all across my devices.

Any help appreciated...thanks!

Same thing in week view...all day items do not overlap.. For some other arbitrary nonsense reason, you can only view 5 "All day" items at a time in weekly view. Why can't I have 10 or 15 all day items visible?

For me, I use Calendar as a sort-of checklist or to do list as well. I set most every single item in my calendar to "all day" because I like the solid colors of the events as opposed to a colored dot and text.

Thanks tygb, but you see those bright colors that you select? When you go to the monthly view, all of the colors are dimmed, subdued, transparent...whichever word you use to describe them, they are not "bright" until you click on (select, highlight) them (all of my calendar items are set to "all day" which gives you a colored rectangle in monthly view). I want them to be bright all the time. I was hoping there was some way to disable the dimming effect in monthly view. Also, in weekly view, I would like to be able to view more than 5 items at once. The bar that separates all day items from the timed items should be moveable.

thanks for the input...

Hmmmm...but in Month view, they never overlap, so there is no reason for semi-transparency. I can't see the all the events if there are more than six...I just get a line added at the bottom of that day that says, "2 more...". So, them being transparent means nothing in monthly view.

I would rather give up the transparency in order to have bright colors.
