Iphone disconnected problem during backup

I have a problem when I am trying to make a backup of my Iphone 7 and iTunes via USB cable - Iphone disconnected problem - "iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected". I cannot backup to my computer. In the same time, Wi-fi backuping to iCloud was completed succesfully.

I am using latest iOS 10.3.3 and Windows 10x64 (version 1703, build 15063.483) with all updates and latest iTunes 12.6.2.20 and good ASUS motheboard with good powerful USB 3.0 porrts and original Apple USB-ligtning cables.

I tried to use 3 different cable and 4 different USB ports, with no result.

I tried to reinstall everything, I stopped antivirus, activated "At the Plane" mode, and made all other tricks which I found here, with no result.

I had this error with previous versions of iOS and iTunes as well, but when I had iPhone 5, I did not have this error on the same desktop computer.

I posted my solution in another post too (check my profile),credits to iMazing team.

I will try to describe the steps:

The is a bug in iOS 10.3.3 that prevents the backup due too special characters in the files. So you have to find that app and uninstall it.

I will try to describe the steps:

-Install iMazing

-Run a back up (with iMazing not iTunes) and check the process bar % and remember the number where the backup will fail

-From iMazing start menu press "show device console",move the windows somewhere near and press PAUSE

-Start a backup again and 5-10 % before the error happens, press RESUME on device console.

-As soon as the backup fails, pause the console and press SAVE,to create a txt file.

-Now it the file search for "No operation found for path"

-You will see a line like "'No operation found for path: /var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/9944C65F-F8E5-4CA5-951B-7B6AF0A40D1D/Documents/File-Name-With-Special-Characters'

-The first bold string is the Unique ID of the rogue APP and the second it the rogue file name.

-Try to identify the file from the type or name by googling and delete it.

I totally understand. I can only speak for myself. When I had upgraded to the previous version of iOS, and couldn't back up, one of the suggestions made was to delete the old backups, which I did. That solution did not help me and I was stuck without a backup from that time all the way till I upgraded to iOS 11. Personally I wasn't too concerned, I didn't have anything on my phone which I couldn't recreate. I know that isn't the case for everyone though. Sincerely wishing you the best of luck!

Try iExplorer (iPhone Music, Messages & File Transfer for Mac & PC · iExplorer; not Internet Explorer). This will let you browse and search all your user files on the phone. Start by searching for the file extensions of the offending files (you'll see an abbreviated filename in the iMazing log). Since the filename is abbreviated It took me a little while to find exactly which app/file was causing the problem. But when I found it, I simply changed 1 letter in the file name and this fixed the problem.

Had the same issue as everyone, tried a number of things (new cables, restarting, disconnecting other devices, background app refresh, etc, etc).

iMazing was what worked for me, following these instructions found elsewhere in this thread: https://imazing.com/blog/ios-10-3-3-device-disconnected-error-during-backup-fix.

Found out it was FIRECHAT app causing the issue.

I deleted FireChat from my iPhone, then deleted again using iMazing App mgmt when the phone is plugged in (for some reason it was still showing up w/in iMazing but not on my phone).-->Restarted iphone/itunes/iMazing, ran backup via iTunes and it's now working.

(Other variables that may/may not have contributed: Just prior to my backup working, I renamed my phone on the iTunes side bar when it was plugged in. My carrier settings update from AT&T a while back changed it back to just “iPhone”, so I changed it to what it had been previously, although I doubt this had any affect.)
