I am trying to connect my airpods to my Dell Laptop through bluetooth. It is windows 10 and it finds the device fine but when I try to pair it the Dell asks for the pin to my airpods. What is my pin? How did I find out my pin? Did I set a pin?

I had this exact problem, tried everything from updating my bluetooth drivers to resetting my airpods and nothing worked. But then I ran the updates on Windows 10 and when it rebooted, it didn't even ask me for my pin and just connected! Hope that works for you.
Windows transmits a default PIN of "0000", which works fine for devices that use that PIN. But some devices require different PINs, such as "1111" for a headset I just bought.
This worked, thanks so much. It took me a sec to find the right thing to update in Device Manager.
I've had the same issue and managed to fix it by updating Bluetooth device drivers in Device Manager of my Windows 10. Simply right-click our laptop's Bluetooth device and click update. It will get the latest driver over the internet.
