Giving my kid an iPhone on verizon

I have an old 6 plus and I want to activate it on Verizon. Do I need a new SIM card or an old SIM card.

Thanks

Do you currently have Verizon service for this iPhone 6+? If so, check with Verizon about transferring service.

If it is not on Verizon, you would need to contact that wireless cellular provider first to see if they can "unlock" the phone from their service. Then you can contact Verizon to get a new SIM card from them.
