Wifi drops when phone is locked or goes to idle and reconnect when screen is on.
This happens after the last ios update.

This is not anecdotal. I have been testing it with every iOS release. Nothing has changed. Here is how to actually test it:
Every time a major version is released I do this again. The response has never changed in 10 years.
Repeat the test with the phone plugged in; it won't go to sleep. It may wake up for a few seconds if the phone receives a notification such as a Push email alert, which is an external stimulus, but apps that originate communications will not wake it and will use cellular data.

Nope, not a good test, as WiFi reconnects immediately upon waking. Here's how to do a meaningful test:
Note that if the phone receives a notification the screen will come on momentarily, and WiFi will turn on for 30 seconds. This is how apps have access to WiFi when they receive a notification; notifications always go over a cellular connection, never WiFi.
If you have a Windows PC the instructions are the same, except you open a cmd window, and the command is "ping /t <IP address>"
The /t is needed to prevent ping from stopping after 20 seconds.
I just repeated this using both 9.5.3 and 10.3.3, with the same results.
Low power mode is disabled. Issue is still there even in low power mode. Tried all possible solution like resetting changing to auto login , google dns etc etc. If i am using the phone wifi is stable. Whenever screen goes idle wifi drops. Issues started after the last ios update.

If the phone is unplugged and operating on battery power this is the expected behavior. Evevry iphone since the initial model in 2007 has functioned that way. When on battery, the wifi radio is powered off when the screen is locked or in sleep mode. Things that require data will then use cellular data.
When plugged in, the wifi radio remains on at all times, regardless of screen state. This is why the iPhine only automatically backs up to iCloud when it is plugged in, connected to a known wifi network and the screen is locked. iCloud backups require wifi.
This behavior has nothing to do with iOS 10.3.3. It has been this way since the first iPhone OS and has been so with all subsequent releases of iOS.
How can you say its a normal behavior? I dont think you understand what i said. Wifi completely disconnects when iphone is idle. I been using this phone since 2012 and since the last update this issue came. So you are saying wifi is off when goes to idle since 2007 models. Then i wont get any notification when idle. It was working fine until last update. And the issue remains even with charger plugged in.
Yes, you still get notifications over cellular data, since that internet connection remains active. I don’t know what you think has been happening, but it is a plain fact that iPhones, all iPhones, disable the wifi radio in screen lock mode when running on the battery. They have always done this.
If wifi connections are inactive when plugged in (for example, your iCloud backups are not completing automatically when plugged in), then your phone has an issue. If a reset does not fix it you can try resetting all network connections. If that does not fix it, make a Genius Bar appointment as you may have a hardware issue.
buddy i dont use data connection. or hardly use. Wifi is connected even if the iphone is idle. That how its supposed to work and has been working. Since last update this issue came. I know what i am talking about. I work as an embedded engineer and not a noob in this field. No disrespects to you.
Wifi is stable as long as i am using the phone. It disconnect when i dont use and only reconnect when i turn on display. With your logic i wont get any push notification since 2012. And i hardly turn on mobile data.

Actually, WiFi has always dropped on all iPhones with any version of iOS when the phone is locked, unless it is connected to power. This has been true for 10 years. It's a feature to prevent WiFi from draining the battery.

Push notifications use Apple’s APNS and WoWLAN. They do not and never have required a persistent wifi connection to work.
Believe what you will, but no iOS device has ever supported a persistent wifi connection when running on the battery with the screen locked. That fact has never meant that push notifications do not work in that state, since they never needed a persistent wifi connection to begin with. Not one single thing about any of that changed with the release of iOS 10.3.3
Buddy i know what i am talking about Please understand my problem. I can agree if wifi radio goes to power saving mode once idle and occasionally wake up to check for push notification. However thats not the case now. Once locked there wont be any push notification and wifi completely drops. I can see that from my routers connection lists too. Besides I tried an indirect method to keep wifi on by installing a ping app and ping google.com(to keep wifi busy) every second and then i locked the phone. No luck. Once locked it disconnected after 10-20 seconds and reconnect only on wake up.
PS: That ping app work even when locked. So it running in background.
I know what I am talking about. I have been observing it for 10 years. I am an electronics engineer and I designed a predecessor of WiFi. WiFi has always dropped when the phone goes to sleep. It is DESIGNED to do that. This is not something new with 10.3.3. It has always worked that way.
There is no such thing as WiFi "power saving mode". WiFi is either on or off. When it is on it sends a continuous signal at a 30 mw level, which, due to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, actually uses closer to 50 mw of battery energy. So when WiFi is on there is a constant 50 mw drain on the battery; this is why iOS turns WiFi off, as there is no such thing as power saving mode.
Push notifications do not use WiFi. They never have. Push notifications always use the cellular connection. They always have. When the phone receives a Notification the phone wakes momentarily to receive it, and WiFi comes back on at that time to allow the notified app to access any data associated with the notification. If you turn off cellular data you will not receive Push notifications.
If you let the ping app run for long enough (typically 30-40 seconds) you will see the connection drop.
