128mb vs 256mb vram?

Well, our 9 month old 2.0 CD failed for the 3rd time and it's being replaced by the newer 2.16 C2D. We're getting a faster cpu but we're losing some mem on the video card. How much will that affect things (iMovie rendering, games on Bootcamp)?

Mac mini 1.42GHz 1GB RAM, MBP 2.0GHz 2GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

i think we'll spring for the applecare protection before the warranty runs out. i wonder if the warranty on this machine starts when we receive it or when we bought the old one.

I would think that Applecare would cover you from the time you received the new MBP, since it is a new product.

The time is actually variable and you can either consult the Apple support page…

… to find you coverage date else you can always call AppleCare as they'll know for sure.
