80GB Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 Hard Drive into a MDD

I purchased what I think is the above mentioned drive. It fits my sled perfectly and the power cable fits but the female connector on the drive for the data cable is entirely different than the ribbon cable. It is narrower with fewer pins. The Hitachi website shows the correct connector for my cable when I look up the 7K250 but the drive I have has a different configuration. Am I missing something here? The drive itself has an Apple logo (model: HDS722580VLSA80)and the label on the drive matches the bag it came in. Is there another type of connector other than the traditional wide ribbon data cable I am used to? I'm waiting to hear from the vendor. I have to think this is a lack of knowledge on my part as I trust the vendor but something isn't right... any ideas?
