What is best video chat alternative for Skype for OS 10.5.8 ?

Since Skype no longer works on Mac's that run OS 10.8.5 or lower, I am looking for an alternative video chat capability that supports Mac OS 10.8.5. I do not want to change my OS.

I have read about Tox, Jitsi and others.

Has anyone in this Mac community had success with any non-Skype video chat services ?
