Using the Tile app and AirPods

Anyone else have problems using their AirPods while also having the Tile app (with physical Tiles)? I started noticing this issue from the get go, and it's incredibly annoying.

Does anyone know if Apple is working out some way to solve this issue? It's definitely directly linked together.

Anyone else use Tiles and AirPods and have the same issue?

Tile was first to market before the iPhone? Sounds to me like Tile is not properly following a Bluetooth profile or is not properly isolating a frequency channel. Have you reported it to Tile or checked their website.

Have you called AppleCare or reported this here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Response I got from Tile support below.

So sorry to learn that you're having troubles connecting with your AirPods as you try to make phone calls and I'm here to tell yiou more about it.

We received reports that several Bluetooth devices cannot be connected at the same time and this issue is not true with Tile but with other devices as well.
Per our engineering staff's recommendation, at this time, the temporary resolution of this issue would be to terminate the app while other Bluetooth devices are in use.
To close your Tile app on your Apple device, simply:

  1. Double tap the home/center button.
  2. Swipe away your Tile app so it doesn't run in the background.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are aware of some reports of similar behavior and are currently investigating this issue. This will help Tile to test and improve the Bluetooth connection with the upcoming Tile app release further down Tile's product road-map. If you have further questions, please let us know. We'd be happy to help you.

Same problem here too. As a temp measure I disable the Bluetooth option in the tile app settings, ill turn it back on when I need to make my tile(s) ring. Unfortunate that I can't use it concurrently!!

Bluetooth stack on iPhone & ios has been a problem since at least the iphone 6 & ios 8 or 9, cant really have to many connections at the same time before something starts to go wrong.

I suspect it is not only to do with the Tile app (although it is definitely a common thread in the issue) - it also has to do with the number of concurrent Bluetooth connections. I find that if I put my Apple Watch in airplane mode then I can use the airpods with the Tile app but if both my Apple Watch and my Tile app are running simultaneously then my Airpods won't work.

This was driving me nuts. For the past couple of weeks, I haven't been able to make a phone call using my airpods. I initially thought that it was something to do with waze or maps, as everything else worked except making a phone call.

Finally had enough and google'd it to see this is a long standing issue. I don't know if it was 'fixed' and then in a recent update - broke again, as I think I recall making phone calls without issue.
