I have a brand new PNY usb drive that is formatted MS-DOS FAT32, but I want to use it exclusively with MacBook Pro. As it is brand new should I reformat in Disk Utility?
The is no problem to use on the Mac the FAT32 ... can be useful in case of emergency to access this usb drive to a PC as well. But in case you want to format in HFS+, yes you need to use Disk Utility: Disk Utility for Mac: Erase a volume using Disk Utility
Yes, as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Do not use case sensitive.
If you leave it as is, you can still read/write the drive, but will not be able to copy anything to it larger than 2 GB. That's a limit of FAT32 itself.
I just need to use it for a smallish iTunes library. I don't have a Windows PC anymore, and as it is brand new today I just wondered about formatting.

Yes, if you don't need Fat32 you can reformat as Max Extended (Journaled) for exclusive Mac OS use.
