i found the you tube red via the subscribtion instructions listed above on iTunes on my computer

The chances are you have inadvertently taken on a subscription, something easily done (did it myself, once). Read through this Apple document and follow the appropriate instructions.
Shame, but perhaps we shall never know what happened as Brendon never came back to us. You seem to confirm what I thought ... it was a forgitten subscription.
Hi Ptaxey I do not have any recorded purchases on my ITune account. This also happened in May this year. I rang Apple support but they were not helpful at all. Told me to talk to my bank. I did and they referred me back to Apple!!
