Disc partition unavailable

So I have this flash disc and I wanted to partition it. However th option is great. I have find this terminal command


"sudo diskutil partitionDisk DiskC 1 jhfs+ Installer R" However after I enter it it says

"does not appear to be a whole disk"


I wonder if it is even possible to partition.

Forget the Windows machine. Look for the write protect switch on the side of the SD card and switch it to the other position. This will allow you to manipulate it in Disk Utility. Also, unless you need to use it on a Window machine, format/erase it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and set the scheme to GUID.
