Core Audio not found

Ok, I have logic pro 6.4. I reinstalled my Mac OSX and when I launch Logic it tells me that the core audio cannot be found so I have no use of my plug-ins.

Really need and would appreciate your help please!!!

Are you using inbuilt audio, or an audio interface?

If the former, can you hear sound ouput from other applications, like iTunes or Garageband?

Do you have Core Audio enabled in Logic audio driver preferences, and set to the correct audio device.

Try launching Logic with the audio driver turned off (hold control while loading), and see if it loads then.

If not, trash prefs and try again.

Thanks for your reply.

I am using a Delta 44 soundcard. When I reset OSX I had to download the driver from the m-audio website but now it works for applications such as itunes, DVD...so it's working fine.

Tried what you suggested and no joy unfortunately.

When I hold down ctrl it asked me if I want to launch the core audio. I've treid selcting both yes/no with the same result.

Anything else I can try?

Should I reinstall logic?

If so do I need to back up my files and will I have to reinstall my plugins?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated

No to starting up core audio, only the core audio is ticked in
the audio drivers page.

Yes, but what do you have select under the "Driver" flip menu option? - this lets you choose what core audio device Logic should use for audio input and output - you can chooise In-built audio, any of the other sound devices or virtual audio interfaces you may have installed on your system.

Is it set to your Delta audio interface, or something else?

Just to check, are the preferences found in the library?

Preferences are in:
/"USER"/Library/Preferences/Logic/

Wow! Your a genius!

I haven't done anything?!

Are you trying to say that thanks to my suggestions, after trashing your prefs and re-enabling core audio in Logic with your audio interface selected in the drivers page, that it works now, and you no longer get "core audio not found" messages?

My plugins are not working now(stylus, imposcar, garitan)

Well, is Logic's audio driver turned on? (Core audio ticked, starting Logic normally and playing audio works fine?)

If so, what do you mean your plugs aren't working? Are they not in the plugin list? Do they not start - I need more info other than "not working" otherwise I haven't a chance of helping...

Or maybe I should just start a new post called: "Help - my life's not working" 😉

Well it works now so give yourself some credit!

Everything here is working fine

I first realised that the plug ins weren't available when I opened up one of my tracks and it told me that the stylus plug in wasn't available. I opened up a new file and couldn't find the plugs.

Had a look in my user>library>audio and all the plugs are still there and they are still in the plug ins folder within the logic folder (applications>logic>plug ins)
