MacBook Pro heating

I bought my MacBook Pro 13" model 2017 two days ago, and I'm feeling it's hot while I'm just surfing Facebook and Twitter using Safari

Specs :

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB

(No touch bar)

Any Solutions ?

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Hi,

The new MBPs seem to run a little hotter than older ones.

Heat is subjective. Use a temperature monitoring app and fan monitoring app to see what temps really are, and if your fans are running to cool things down like they're supposed to:

Fan monitoring app:

smcFanControl (use this only if you can control the urge to control the fan speed; Mac OS X/macOS is designed to do this properly without outside interference): google for smcfancontrol or others.

Fan and Temperature monitoring app:

or google for more

Temperature monitoring apps:

or google for more

check a whole list of them: http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/all.html?refine=temperature+monitoring+free+app

I'm wondering if they set "idle" to 0 now? I don't have a 2017, and I've always had 15" MBPs, and those have always idled at 2000rpm. Maybe someone with a 2017 13" can stop by and confirm the 0rpm. Meanwhile, if you're concerned, use your 90 days of phone support and ask Apple directly. You may also want to start a new thread with the subject something about a 2017 13" fan rpm to see what others are experiencing.
