Ah ok, perfect! So what blade type: PCI-e should be what I'm looking for? Thank you!
They are distinguished by size, buy the size you want.
As in 1TB, 750GB, etc? So, any 250GB PCI-e from a dell, can replace my mac PCI-e, once formatted?
If you have a 2013 to 2015 MacBook Pro, yes. a Blade Type PCI-e SSD is what those use.
There's no further specification than that other than their capacity. Any capacity will work.
Provided it is compatible, yes, and the best way to ensure that is to buy one from a reputable vendor, like OWC.
I'm looking at the pins of some SSD PCI-es and they don't look like they'll fit into a MacBook. Do I buy an adapter in this case? Thanks
No, they either fit or they don't, that is why I recommend OWC as the place to get one.
Thank you, but how do I determine compatibly? Thanks
Ok, so do you know what specifics I have to look out for when looking for one compatible with my MacBook? Thanks
You can go to OWC's website and look at the specification of the ones they sell for use in rMBP's.
What about the posts is contradictory.?
You're saying not all PCI-e SSDs are compatible and he is saying they are. :)
Ok, so there isn't a name or model type for the separation. Thanks
No, he is saying the same thing, even posted pictures.
And as you have yet to identify your Mac we can hardly be specific about it, can we?
