signature image cache

Ciao to all.

I have a customer with 15 user and they have an HTML signature with pictures included into the code of their Apple Mail.

Images are stored into a server exposed on internet.

Just To be flexible, I'm use to change the picture linked into the signature on the server; So i can change the picture into ALL signature.

BUT Apple Mail decided to NOT refresh the image.

SO there is something cached into the local cache folder who prevent to reload/refresh the image.

Someone has a suggestion for me?

Mail signatures, in Sierra, are stored into this path

$HOME/Library/Mail/V4/MailData/Signatures

in the form of

SignatureUniqueId.mailsignature

where SignatureUniqueId is something like this AAAAAAAA-BBBB-CCCC-DDDD-EEEEEEEEEEEE

The file is a text file and has images encoded in base64.

If you would like to make the signature images "dynamic" you must create the HTML signature following this guide How to Create an Attractive HTML Email Signature For Mail on Mac OS X Sierra 10.12

Hi, what you outlined is not a solution. You have outlined how you edit the raw HTML of the signature file. But Roberto is saying that images are being cached. I have for example setup an HTML email signature by referring to an external server which stores the image. When I change the image on the external server the old image is still showing in the signature file. Apple Mail must be caching these external images and I don’t want it to.
