Can I use a sticker on my cracked trackpad?

So, I just broke my trackpad as I pressed on it too hard. I've done some research and turns out, I'd have to pay from £100-£200 to replace not only the cracked trackpad, but the keyboard too (even though it works extremely fine).

I don't want to spend that much, so I was wondering if it would be okay to just put a sticker on top, so that it would look fine?

I'm worried that the crack would expand overtime, & ruin the MacBook..
