In respect of your further question (referenced in your other thread) regarding bands:

Apple advises that you should use only Apple branded or Apple authorised bands with Apple Watch.

Apple advises that third-party bands:

  • May damage Apple Watch:
    • Unauthorised third-party bands may have components that do not meet Apple's design specifications.
    • Such bands may, for example, become jammed in the watch (an example of this has been posted here previously), release too easily, fail to resist slide-out force, corrode easily or exhibit other issues.
  • May not fit properly.
  • May contain materials that cause skin sensitivities or other health concerns:

Every material in Apple bands that touches the skin has been extensively evaluated in accordance with Apple's specifications.

  • May interfere with the Wrist Detection feature.

I have been living dangerously, i.e. no watch screen protector, and because of that needed to stop using kettle bells or dumbbells in the rack position during workouts as they would perfectly rest on my watch. This accommodation wasn't a problem. With regard to your question about bands, I purchased a woven nylon band and a silver milanese loop from Apple directly. I looked at the third party band reviews and after seeing that some folks were having their watch fall off because the bands weren't holding, I decided not try them.
