bought a pair of Yamaha HS7 monitors. I bought a stereo 3.5 mm jack to duo stereo 6.35 mm jack adapter to plug into my audio output from my Mac mini.I bought 2 stereo 6.35 mm jack to jack cables out from the adapter to the balanced inputs of my Yamaha speakers.The speakers work but everything is in MONO ????
Any help please.

Buy an adaptor that directly converts from 3.5mm stereo jack to 2 balanced xlr plugs (one right and one left), forget all the junk in between. The HS7 also have a TRS input, use that if it is easier, but remember it also is mono so you need 2.

I don't think the HSZ's require TRS, two mono 6.5mm (1/4inch) cables should work as well. As octopi mentioned, the 3.5mm stereo out from the computer should split into two female mono 6.5 jacks. Then mono cables directly
One cannot do TRS connections with the computers audio system and an audio interface has to has TRS output jacks to use a TRS cable... otherwise it's mono-a-mono, comprende?
But using the computers noisy, inaccurate output into a very decent pair of studio reference speaker seems sacrilegious.
As these speakers are for quality of recording assessment why do you want to degrade the signal connection with adaptors?
Buy something along these lines (4 second google search)
I don't fully understand, you can go from 3.5mm stereo to 2 x trs jack mono, or to 2 xlr mono, not both.
TRS stands for Tip Ring Sleeve, also a balanced connection.

What 'jack' are you talking about, 2 different 'jacks' may be needed for your connection, which one are you talking about.
I'm wondering, Stagg make a 1/4" jack to male xlr cable.If I get 2 of these, then plug into a new 3.5 mm to dual mono jack adapter for my mac mini output ?
You would need two of those cables
I am using an old M-audio Firewire Solo.I think the driver is incompatible with mac OS sierra I am using.The result is I cannot get a direct output from the SOLO'S line outs to the Yamahas.The M-audio App is no longer recognised so I cant get into the m-audio mixer to see what's going on.So, i have gone back to the mac mini output for my signal to the yamahas
one option many people are not aware of is that a computer's HDMI video out most often also comprises digital stereo audio. my video monitor (an LG 4k TV) has an optical digital out which can be fed into an amp with a digital in. so i just route the digital audio via HDMI thru my monitor to the amp. best quality you can get with consumer gear.
alternatively, there are high quality converters around for HDMI digital audio to whatever signal format you need.

Depends on how one uses Logic.
Are you only using Logic for playback? Do you plan on recording?
That Interface has balanced (TRS) 6.5mm (1/4inch) Outputs... why the **** aren't you using those? Why use the computer's output when you have what you need right there. Do you have manuals for the hardware you're going to use? Read them diligently!
