Airport Extreme - Zoom Modem

I'm trying to connect my Airport Extreme to a Zoom Modem (ZOOM5354). When I configure it via the Airport Utility, it displays two messages next to status (specifically orange warning lights): (1) Ethernet unplugged and (2) Internet Connection. I'm not sure why #1 since I have the ethernet cable plugged in. Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you first resetting the AirPort Extreme back to factory default settings.....before.....you reconfigure the device?

Have you double checked to insure that the Ethernet cable connects from one of the LAN <--> ports on the Zoom modem/router to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Extreme?

If yes, have you tried another Ethernet cable?

If you need more help, it would really help us to know what model number of AirPort Extreme you have......and.....whether you are using Airport Utility on a Mac, a PC, or an iOS device. If it is a Mac, we will assume that you are running a current or recent operating system on the Mac, correct?

Yes, I did that.

Unfortunately, we've had this a long time, and I can't find it. I'm trying to configure via Macbook pro. Thanks.

So far, everything that you are telling us indicates that the WAN "O" port has failed on the AirPort Extreme.

If the AirPort Extreme is the older "flat or square" version, like a small white pizza box.....the model number is on the bottom of the device, usually embedded in the foam pad base. The model number starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.

We assume that your MacBook Pro is running the current Sierra operating system, or a recent system like El Capitan or Yosemite, correct? If you do not know what operating system is installed on your Mac, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click on About This Mac and post back with the OS X Version that you see there.
