iCloud photo library won't sync to Mac

Hi,

I have a problem with mu mum's photo library. She has iPhone, iPad and iMac. She uses iCloud photo library. It sync everything between iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com, however, it won't sync photos to iMac. She has the latest Mac OS, she is signed to iCloud and has iCloud photo library turned on, she sees shared albums, however, it doesn't sync her photos.

I've tried to turn off/on the iCloud photo library, tried to restart mac, repair the library, created new system library but nothing works.

Any idea what might help?

I tried the same, and syncing started to partially work again. Took a photo on my phone and it automatically appeared on my iMac as an outline but it won't download. Slight progress.

Then added a photo on my iMac and it didn't make it to my iPhone.

David, you can use iCloud Drive to exchange documents between your devices. When activated you have the option to view documents on each of your devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac etc). That is another discussion, but if you save a pdf, pages etc. document and you have activated your icloud drive, then you get the option (when you choose where to save it) to save it in your iCloud Drive. Same way I stored a jpg document in my iCloud Drive and that triggered Photos to start synchronising in my case.

what is your ICPL status on each dvice - Check the status of your library in Photos for macOS - Apple Support

Hi,

after creating a new system photo library, it took a few days when it started to work as usual. It really took about 4-5 days and now it sync all photos with no problem... strange.
