on iphone se ,when sending a text message, when i turn the iphone to a horizontal position, the space where i text shrinks so small that i cannot read what i text, the text is cut in half. It works fine when in a vertical position!!

iPhone 4S, iOS 10.3.3
There are no settings except "LARGER TEXT & BOLD TEXT". and neither of those have an effect on my text on the screen. Both are OFF!! When the text is in the vertical position there is lots of room above the letters in the text box. When I turn it over the height of the box is cut dramatically and I can only seee about hald of each letter. Nothing I do seems to overcome this!!
Does anybody else have any suggestions?
You can alter the size of text or enable zoom & magnifier under Settings > General > Accessibility.
Or zoom with your fingers.
