Does the new 2017 iMac have optical out via the 3.5 headphone jack?

I bought a minitoslink to regular toslink and plugged it into the iMac then into my receiver and I am not getting any sound of recognition by the iMac that it's a digital out. Did I miss something and they removed all optical outs from the 2017 iMac?

Thanks =)

Depending on what you are connecting to, you

will need some USB audio device with TOSLINK

or if the device has HDMI connections, you could

try an adapter like this:

HDMI has the capability of delivering a much higher bandwidth

signal than TOSLINK.
