Ringtones have been removed from iTunes with 12.7, so how can I add custom ringtones. I do not want to buy ringtones from the store, I want to manage my current custom ringtones and add new custom ringtones.

So, it looks like you can still drag ringtones onto your device listed in iTunes. This last part of the page at this link shows this process. Haven't tried it myself yet.

but once it's in Tones, can't seem to be able to be deleted.
It seems you have to switch to manual management of device content before you can use iTunes to delete tones.

Me too man! So frustrating!
I tried in both regular and admin mode; also tried dragging to the sidebar or the main iTunes window, nothing works.
Good to know the workaround works, but it ought to be so much easier.

I have tried every work around in this thread and I still can’t get my ringtones to show.
I tried with out #2 and didnt work. It would not allow me to drag it in. But after #2, I could drag and drop it in.
Make sure the ringtone is not in your iTunes playlist. Right click on the file in your iTunes playlist and remove it without sending it to Trash.
Is there a way to retrieve all the carefully curated ringtones I had before iTunes 12.7 wiped them out? I cannot believe the greed of this company- how was this a problem that had to be eradicated?
I has able to make and install a new one but ideally I could locate and reinstall the 20-30 or so I had before

Perhaps iTunes is set to keep the media folder organized. Have you searched your media folder for files of the form *.m4r?

same problem. the dragged song shows green + circle in tones but nothing happens. isn't iphone great?
