Rearranging apps in iTunes 12.7

I agree. Absolutely useless. I want to view the screen of the iPhone on my Mac and make pages and sets as I need them. I can't even see the page with the apps for the iPad and iPhone. I don't spend my life playing music - I consider the iPhone and iPad to be vital extensions of the desktop and not being able to visit the aps tab is a pain in the butt. I'm supposed to hold and drag every da app on two phones, two pads and a pod????

Oh please! I have too much equipment I use for work, and I help set up devices for others with groups of apps for specific tasks, that removing a feature like apps access makes a lot of sense. Cute is not the answer. As Merriam-Webster states: " volte-face was our Word of the Day on 03/05/2011." Not quite the proper term here.

So, with iTunes 12.7, there is no longer a way for me to rearrange my apps and apps screens? I have to do it on the device? And this is supposed to be easier? This is a HUGE step backwards. I can't even believe Apple would do this. What if I want to insert a blank page after my Home Screen? You used to be able to do that on iTunes. And moving apps around in iTunes was much faster than moving them around on the device itself. Unbelievable.

Thanks, that worked. Installing the previous version didn't screw anything up, other than I had to backup and delete my .itl file from the 12.7 version. I was able to re-arrange all my apps and pages quickly. Phew. Appreciate the assist. (**** you, Apple!!)

Yep, the Apps tab is still missing. I love my iPhone 8+ but HATE that I cannot rearrange apps and screens in iTunes like I used to be able to do. Bad decision if you ask me. PLEASE Apple, bring this capability back FAST.

Aaaaaaaaaand what if iOS11 has ruined your device, slowed it to the point of being as much use as a condom machine in the Vatican, and impossible to rearrange the apps?

Only because I'm growing tired of surprises, when you say "It works with iOS 11" are you saying that it will not work with earlier versions?

My most used iPad is 3rd gen. God forbid I should have a 5 year old antique but it won't run any iOS newer than 9.

Just want to arrange a lot of app icons and groups on a computer with a mouse. Not through wiggly, springy things.

Completely agree that they need to rethink this. I used it to control what apps my child had access to on my old iPad, and I don't want to enable him to download apps unless I've agreed to them. I can no longer control this with the change they've made.

Although there is no Display selection under Control Panel in Windows 10 I did find the display was set to 125% via Display Settings right clicking the desktop. After changing to 100%, and rebooting, all 4 columns are shown. Thanks for you help!

Very much in agreement with you, CFLBob. It's just a poor method. How many times have you managed to drag/hold to traverse a couple of screens only to slip off or hold it over an unresponsive group and have it bounce back to where it began?

There was one trick that seemed to help in some cases: drag a group onto the dock. It's then right in front of you from any page cutting down on that part of it at least. But for some reason it doesn't seem to be working lately. Holding an icon over the group doesn't open the group for access. It does still work in iTunes though.

(And I certainly won't hold my breath waiting for multiple selection or nested groups/folders. 😁)

How can I now move a complete screen around? Do I have to now move all apps away from that screen and then move everything from the other screen there, and then move all the first moved ones to the now empty screen where I wanted it? a few seconds is now 10 Minutes!!! and a pain to do. WHY?
