Rearranging apps in iTunes 12.7

Now that the "apps" tab is gone under the device syncing pages in iTunes 12.7, how are we supposed to rearrange screens, add screens, move apps from one to the other and do those maintenance tasks we sometimes need to do? When I buy a new app, how do I make it go on the screen I want to put it on?

From here, it looks like an uninformed decision.

Only getting app updates by paying through our data plan? I don't even have data connectivity on my iPad to connect to them directly. No more updates for my iPad?

We just got our power on after Hurricane Irma. Having to download anything over the air was highly unlikely. The LTE internet connection hardly worked at all, since everyone lost their home internet connection and went over to their phones.

As far as rearranging apps on the device screen, you can do it directly on your device the "old fashioned way" (which is actually the newer way) by pressing on the icon until it starts to wiggle and then move it (or delete it by tapping the x in the corner). When finished, tap the home button

As far as downloading apps goes, it looks like you do indeed have to that for each device.

If the people at Apple had a real computers/OS, they would never think in these directions.

They changed my all my i devices to imap from POP without asking.

They turned on all my location settings and ran out my data plan in 2 days.

They modify the less than popular itunes to what someone in a rubber room thinks makes computer sense.

It's becoming a real pain to spend days UNDOING either Apple incompetence and ATT's incompetence. I'd like to bill back all the time on the phone that I've spent. I get comments like "they should have never set this up this way" and find I have to start square one from 8 years of things working just fine till Apple decides to do it all another way.

One in 10 of the on-line/phone people know what they are doing the rest should go back to either Walmart or McDonalds, they're not helping the cause.

Its B.S because managing a phone with 30+ apps, using touch-hold-wiggle-move method is just not workable.

Restoring from a back-up is becoming less and less useful these days as the official recommendation from geniuses is to reset to factory and install apps one by one, to avoid some unknown corruption issue.

I have just gone through this exact thing, and have 5 screens of unorganized apps. I started to arrange them, but soon gave up after 30 minutes. I've given up, and just use springboard search now.

I COMPLETELY hate that Apple chose to remove this functionality from iTunes. The program has become progressively more and more counter intuitive, for all that Apple tends to be the opposite. But in terms of managing app screens on your phone, a previous poster was absolutely spot on. It is often very difficult to find apps in groups on your device, then holding them down and moving the edge of the screen, often overshooting your destination. It's cumbersome at very best.

You are absolutely correct!!!!!!!!! I made several comments on this but they were deleted because they were 'critical' of programming. Surprised others I have read are actually more critical than mine? Anyhow..good luck to all on this, hope they act on this issue in some clever way because everyone is not happy how its gone.

You seriously must have meant to reply to someone else. I am happy that Apple is starting to remove the bloat from iTunes.

Apple doesn't remove posts because they're critical. They remove them because they violate the Terms of Use. The usual causes are rudeness and ranting. It's quite possible to be critical and polite. For example, I think that Apple took a nice little program, SoundJam, bought it and, over time, made a mess of it as they tried to get it to fill more and more roles. I think that was a mistake and resulted in a program that was less usable than it should have been. You will note that I didn't call anyone names. I stated my opinion about what Apple did, not about the skills or abilities of the people who work for Apple.

"Removing bloat from iTunes"

A key feature, such as the ability to set up the desk tops of pages and create effective set-structures for effective access is hardly bloat. I know that you had to say something to Robbin, but you overlook the desire of users, who pay for apps, to be able to control the arrangement of them. Not like this is a new idea - many would simply like to be able to do what they used to be able to do.
