apps missing from iTunes sidebar

iTunes 12.7.0.166 recently upgraded on my iMac Sierra 10.12.6. Plugged in iPhone and iPads to manage organization of the apps however iTunes side bar does not show apps listed anymore. Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Photos, Info and file sharing all present.

Apple just released iTunes version 12.6.3 that brings back App and Ringtone management support.

Read the proverbial fine print at the bottom of the doc.

Apple only supports the latest release (12.7). They are basically

saying us it at your own risk and if you have any trouble we will

not be responsible nor help. Also note the release date. It has been around

for a while.

Fantastic at least I have a way to manage devices now. I am sure with enough complaints mailed to apple us poor consumers will be able to pressure them to restore this feature as well. Someone in the usability department needs to think before they act and understand the big picture for people who manage stuff versus some cool idea they had for them and their friends

Totally agree. It's an accessibility thing for me as big as my iPhone 6 Plus is, it doesn't compare to the much more easily managed environment inside iTunes for dragging things around.

The 11.x iOS upgrade amplified things as my 6Plus stutters and is not as responsive as under 10 and I tried 3 times to drag an application from a 3rd page folder to a folder on my home screen and gave up.

I also found it SO easy to delete apps from my phone. Although one can blame oneself for how they organize things, there's an app I only find by 'searching' so really wish they had a 'Open Location' type of functionality so I can easily delete it.

In iTunes, this was dead simple.

There's other reasons for considering 'other' alternatives too as I used to expel the benefit of the Apple 'system' but after struggling with Photos syncing issues with iOS/AppleTV and the ongoing issues with iOS 11 and the bigger push to iCloud (which doesn't work well with high cost data plans and expensive home (remote areas in Canada), and the form goes above functionality when coming to getting a bigger than 3TB drive with a brand new $3500+ iMac is seemingly ridiculous in today's scheme of things. But I digress.
