Will iphone x have a way to black out the ears so content can be full screen without the notch?

In apps where it makes sense, such as videos, games, etc., tapping on the screen eliminates the notch and makes the ears black. Many apps use black background by default, too, so you only see a black bezel, no “ears.”

OK, which is why Apple gave the zillions of app developers the opportunity to design their apps to work with the "ears" as you call them, into their apps for iPhone X. Again, it's unlikely Apple will just summarily black that out at this point since all the App developers have already gone through the arduous task of updating their apps to work on the iPhone X screen.

Unlikely? Maybe. But you never know. Which is why I’m addressing it. I’ve seen numerous articles related to the ‘notch’. I got the ‘ears’ name from them so not my idea. It’s just too bad people like you are out of optimism, never get anywhere aiming low.
