iOS 11 Can't Send photos through Photo App to iMesaage

Has anyone had issues with sharing photos from the photo app in iOS 11. I used to be able to select in the photos app multiple photos and use the box with the arrow up (send to) and I would be prompted with the messages app. Now it's gone and I have Mail and a munch of other message apps but the apple one is gone.

Has Apple removed this feature. Also noticed the Share to or send to feature for imessage has disappeared for other items as well and shows up for others.

Again any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Yes I looked to ensure the option was not turned off. It's not in the list at all.

iPhone 6s, OS 11

I found this on Gadget Hacks and it worked for me. I had downloaded an app that allowed me to see emails from my work on personal phone - so it put a profile that remotely managed my phone and caused the "message icon" to not show when i hit the share button from the apple photos app. I removed the profile (i have a separate company phone anyway for emails) and the "message icon" came back immediately. Thanks, Gadget Hacks.

Some iPhone users who updated to iOS 11 can no longer see the "Message" icon in the share sheet when in apps such as Photos, which means they can only text or iMessage an image from within the Messages app itself now. This is a bug with remote management software which will hopefully get fixed soon, but until then, the solution isn't pretty.

Why isn't it pretty? Because you have to delete the remote management profile off of your iPhone in order to do it. That means deleting apps such as MobileIron and VMware AirWatch along with any profiles visible in "General" from the Settings app.

Ok. For those of you using an MDM solution, there must be a change made by the system administrator of that MDM. MDM is installed usually by your workplace to protect corporate data. We upgraded our iphones managed by Sophos (our mdm of choice) and noticed that we were having the same issues. This can only be fixed from the MDM software and there is no setting on the phone that can fix it at this moment (That I am currently aware of). In short, if you arent the admin of your MDM software, talk to your IT guy.

The fix related to us was located within the profile restriction settings of the MDM. For those of you on other MDM's like Maas360, Good, BB, Airwatch, etc it will be under some section relating to how data is used through managed or unmanaged apps. In our case it was two check boxes listed as such:

Allow documents to be shared only within managed apps/accounts

Allow documents to be shared only within unmanaged apps/accounts

If either of these checkboxes were enabled, it would cause the message option to disappear. It works differently with ios11 than it did ios10.

Good luck!
