iOS 11 touch screen issues 6S

After installing iOS onto my iPhone 6S I go to input my passcode and the touch screen does not work. I've hard reset my 6S more than 15 times. One of those times I got the touch screen to work. I was able to unlock the phone in. I had to reboot for some reason and the issue is back. I did not have this issue with my phone AT ALL before iOS 11 today. Except with the beta. Now I am stuck hard resetting my iphone. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?? Anyone know to downgrade back to iOS 10.3.3?

Update: Just got it to work after 10 more hard resets. I log in. After a while the screen goes back to passcode and the touch screen stops working again...WHATS GOING ON? I can unlock the phone using touch but that's about it. I'm getting tired of these software issues...

Hi

Go to iCloud make sure iCloud back up is on Then backup now over your wifi

Then go to settings down to reset Restore iPhone back to factory settings.

Set back up over your wifi when it asks if you want to use iCloud backup Say yes to get your apps and data back this will get rid of any bugs.

Cheers

Please thumbs this up for others to see; I have found the solution if you are worst case scenario stuck like me (touchscreen not working, stuck in the lock screen).

First, download iOS 10.3 for iPhone 6s from the internet.

(Apple is still allowing this since iOS 11 just came out, any new iterations of iOS 11 and this option probably won't be possible)

Second, put your phone in recovery mode by holding the home and power button until the iTunes logo shows up.

Third, iTunes will ask you to either Update, Restore, or Cancel. Press Cancel.

Fourth, while holding the control button, click on Restore. A popup menu will appear. From there, select the iOS 10.3 version you downloaded from the internet.

This will revert your iPhone back to iOS 10.3 where your touchscreen should work as normal before you downloaded iOS 11.

So, I think I figured something out through time consuming trial and error.

When I was able to get the touch screen to work arftee many many hard resets I disabled the passcode. I then turned my 6S off then on. Behold, the screen goes straight to the home screen and the touch screen works.

I’m thinking there’s an issue with the passcode disabling or glitching the tough screen. Not allowing the touch screen to work correctly.

So, do many hard resets until the touch screen works then disable the passcode and fingerprint.

Hopefully Apple issues and update to this soon or I’ll be an android user again within a month or two.

Hi,

I was having the same non-responsive screen problem mentioned in this thread and found a workaround that works pretty well for me, most likely that Apple will not recommend doing so due to security concerns.

My device: iPhone 6, original screen (never broken), never jailbraked, started having the screen issue since iOS 11.0.1 through 11.0.2 and 11.0.3.

Tried hard reboots, Restore with iTunes, reset all setting and actually everything that was mentioned here. Nothing worked, screen not responsive most of the time and takes several reboots to have it responsive for a few clicks.

Workaround: disable Find My iPhone.

Settings --> Apple ID --> iCloud --> Find My iPhone

(You will need your Apple ID password in order to disable it).

Even since I disabled it, my device screen is back to work just perfectly well. Still have minor lags from time to time on specific apps but overall, this is much better.

Please try on your device and let us all know. I would really like to know if you find it useful.

Thanks,

Lior

I have been reading on this issue, which I have as well on my 6S 64Gb and it seems to be a hardware problem affecting mainly people who replaced their screen with a non official one.

I guess Apple could solve it in a later update, but so far, you are stuck with iOS 10 if you have this problem. The only solution offered to someone going to Apple was to replace the screen again for an official one.

It is a combination of a software and a hardware issue and there is definitely nothing you can do to prevent it. I am screwed now as I bought a watch 3 that cames with watchOS4 and can only be paired to an iPhone running iOS11

Well I have the same issue with the iPhone 6s 64gb. Only thing I found that works if you will unlock your phone several times and do it really quickly. I takes about 4 times and the screen starts to respond. I have contacted the support only thing they had to say is that they know about this and already received these kind of issues from others. Only thing you can do is to downgrade to 10.3.3 and wait till they fix it. :s

P.S : sorry for super long message haha cause I wanted to explain the whole story.

Also hope that this works for you :)

My phone had the same experience ever since I updated to iOS 11 to my iPhone 6 Plus in September. I had to buy a new phone however I still really wanted to use my old phone again since I have been using it for about nearly 3 years. It responds and then after a few minutes it doesn’t respond, then the cycle repeats itself. So I tried all I can for example buying new replacement screens looking at videos online, looking at post, reading comments from people who had the same thing that happen to me. However none of it worked. However about mid October (can’t rememberabout a few days after animal crossing on iOS came out) i finally been able to make it respond. I was fiddling with a ice pack since I’m from Australia and about this time of the year its extremely hot so yeah. Had my old phone along with my new phone with me when I was playing games on my new phone in bed. Was playing on both phones at the same time. Well my new phone I bought started to go hot so I applied the ice pack at the back of the phone. I then got really ****** at my old phone since I was playing animal crossing on it but it suddenly keep freezing. So...lol Idk what went wrong with me but I just decided to do the same with the old phone/ice pack. Then tried once again to play animal crossing on it,after

10 minutes or so but it when frozen on me again... so I finally got really **** ****** I turned it off and finally opened the phone up and reattached the screen connectors on again. Then put it back together and turned it on...well surprisingly it worked to my amazement, didn’t know the reason why it worked so I didn’t post this type of solution for people. However today I finally found the reason why the phone worked. The phone today went unresponsive again and the phone was super hot, (probably cause I was leaving it on a game and leaving it to run like that since it’s a auto game where I don’t need to control it and can still level up and another factor being today was like 3O something degree) so I once again tried to turn it off and reconnect the screen again however it still didn’t work did this like 3 times. During these time I notice phone went super hot every time I attempt to turn it back on. So I decided use the ice pack again. Before I did this I turned it off and reattached the screen again. Then applied the ice pack at the back of the phone for about 5 minutes and made sure the phone cooled down, phone kind of cold condition. Then turned the phone on again, and guess what the touch worked again. So what I think is just make sure that the phone is not ever super hot. Also the phone doesn’t always need to be done in these steps like everyday only when the phone is super hot or when you notice that touch is not working then try these steps.

Note: I’m not a professional so I don’t know if this would work for all phones just trying to help since it worked on my phone, but help this works for you guys
